Inspired by Quotes # 2

I love quotes, they inspire me.    It is always good to break the quote down and see how we can apply into our life.  To like a quote is one thing but to make your life better from that quote is a whole different level.

Our thoughts can make us happy or make us cry, quotes provide good nutrition for the mind and our emotional well being. Enjoy!

Here are a few quotes I would like to share with you:

  1. Above all, don’t lie to yourself.  The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him. and so loses all respect for himself and others. And having no respect he ceases to love.  -Fyodor  Dostoyersky.
  2. Having positive and powerful thoughts is a true awareness of the self.  – Dadi Janki
  3. Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired. – Jules Renard
  4. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.  – Goethe
  5. The way you get started is to quit talking and begin doing  – Walt Disney
  6. If Freedom of Speech  is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led , like sheep to the slaughter. – George Washington

  1. Great quotes. George Washington must be turning in his grave to see our repressive, “politically correct” society that is one step away from Thought Police. Freedom of speech here in America is slowly being eroded away. I fear the slaughter can not be far behind, and it is already manifesting.

    1. Hi Gloria, When I was typing the George Washington one, I thought this is a bit not PC – I wonder if anyone would be offended. I see whats going on in America in the news, but don’t live there so it is not right for me to comment. Well, at least what every we have in the USA and UK we still have some freedom of speech – there are other countries well !!! But this makes me think , Nelson Mandel and Victor E Frankl. A strong mind can be so powerful – stay connected to the divine and let his light shine on me/us , protect and guide me/us. Let me not get so wrapped up in worry or fear that I lose my mind. This is something I say to myself.

  2. Love all the quotes. And so true that the only way to get started is to begin. Taking the first step is the gradual take off for something bigger. You never know how far you can go in life until you kick-start that ‘vision’. Quotes are truly inspiring and I love them. 🙂
