Dear Friends, I was reviewing my About page to see if it still holds true and as a yardstick to see have I stayed true to my aim and objective of this blog. I paste my About page below for you to read and I welcome your comments/feedback.
It is that time of year of reflections acknowledging the good, the bad and the ugly. What needs to be done more of, what needs to be done less of, and what needs to improve. I am still in my first year of blogging and will be a year old in March. So here are my reflections
Question: Do I feel wiser as a blogger or more confused then when I started out ? Ans: Confused with all the technical stuff, and all the glitches on the WP platform. Wiser – I want to say wiser but honestly don’t get SEO, I don’t get why you must daily blog, I don’t know …..and the list goes on – won’t bore you.
Question: Is daily blogging for me? Ans: Definitely not. I have tried several times -SEVERAL times and I can’t do it ! I am happy that I have accepted that as my fact. It does not bring me joy to blog every day and I no longer care about the advise about blogging every day – not for me!
Question: What do I love about blogging? Answer: I love the community and all the friends I have made on WordPress, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc etc etc. I love sharing my thoughts and reading your comments, and that the words do make a difference
Question for you my friends: What do you like about Thoughtsnlifeblog.com ? What don’t you like? What would you like to see more of?
Below is my About page – a reminder for me as I step into 2017
About me and my vision for this blog
The Author: Bella – Is a first time blogger. 7th March 2016 Based in United Kingdom
A simple blog, created to inspire and motivate myself and anyone else who might be aligned to what is being shared here. I have a passion for self development both from a personal and professional stand point. I have a passion for meditation, self improvement, inner peace, and always trying to find positive ways to be happy in difficult situations, this blog is to help me express this and keep me on track with my own personal growth and life long learning and commitment to become a better person. I feel the learning and experiences I gain could benefit others, therefore I share on this blog.
The thoughts shared here are from my readings , personal experiences, and are inspired by the teaching of Raja Yoga Meditation taught by the Brahma Kumaris world spiritual organisation.
I have been a meditator of Raja Yoga since the tender ages of 10 years old, when my mother took me in the summer holidays. Actually, I turned 11 at the same time. I have been meditating on and off for 30+ years. However, it is only the last 15 -20 years where I have got into gear. Frankily, when you learn something so young, you don’t appreciate it, it is only when life throws the ugly stuff at you that you realise. I am not cool, calm or collected all of the time, I do fall a part but I can get myself back and meditation helps.
My deepest feelings about life
I believe that the thoughts we generate impact our life greatly. If we are able to change our thoughts, redirect them, catch our negative cycles of thinking, we can then change our life and our impact on the world. A thought is the seed of an action/deed, if we can stop the wrong seeds from being sown, we can live happily and have the courage to always do the right thing. If we learn to realign thoughts once we have been hurt to something more positive, we grow stronger, more capable and we become stable with a quiet confidence we can handle anything. Additionally, we set a new habit of always being honest, truthful, clear , sincere and humble in a very gently assertive way.

I think one has to be careful with blogging if it’s more of a duty. As long as it is funny, educational and gives you energy.

Bella, what a wonderful way to review your first year. It is my first year as well, and perhaps I will do something similar. I am a Christian, and I look forward to your posts because they are positive and uplifting, so I believe you fulfill your about page well. You often present a different perspective, but the same goal is in mind and I like that. Keep that going.
As far as daily blogging, you have to do what is right for you. This is meant to be pleasurable, not a chore, in my opinion. If it doesn’t bring you happiness, why do it? I blog daily because I like the study and God gives me a new poem almost daily, so I feel the need to share it. But every person has to find their own schedule.
The one thing I question is all the information you have at the bottom of your posts each time. I’m not sure whether anyone takes the time to go through all that. I know it presents links to various other information, but I wonder if it is productive. I scroll right past it every tine. Just something to consider.
Overall, I enjoy your blog. Keep sending those positive thoughts our way!

Bella, I enjoy your sincerity and enthusiasm in your blog for what you believe and practice. You are a sweet, loving soul — that’s what comes through when I read your blog. As for the SEO and daily blogging, etc., I agree with another commenter that if it feels like a burden, then you’re not going to enjoy it so you will eventually give up. I feel that a lot of the advice given to bloggers about SEO and acquiring “likes” and “followers” is misleading and often defeats the whole purpose of honest blogging, which is to express yourself, entertain, inform and engage. If it becomes a contest to see how many followers one can collect, then it can also become frustrating and discouraging, as well as pointless.
I would rather have fewer followers who really read and enjoy my writing, than a whole lot of “followers” in name only who are only following me so I’ll follow them, and never even read my blog!
In the end, we each must do what feels right on a deep level. We will be guided to use our writing gift in the way that will most benefit ourselves and others.

Ps ..aww thanks for the sweet compliments. Btw … i am not a natural writer and that is one reason i blog to improve that. If you knew how long it takes and i still have typos and sentences that dont make sense because i am too keen to hit publish. So the writers gift..one is working on that..lol..
