The Power to Withdraw
A tortoise carries its shell with it. It retreats into his shell when it is time to rest or to escape from danger.

When I reflect, contemplate and spend time introspectively, I withdraw in a proactive way. I withdraw with an intention to build inner peace and silence. Through meditation, we step inside and connect with I the Soul and The Divine. The Divine is the Ocean of Peace. When I meditate I connect to that Ocean of Peace and that peace will transfer to I, the Soul. I become more and more peaceful, calm, content and stable.
Meditation allows me to step inwards intentionally, to carve out time for inner peace and silence. I build an inner strength of peace. I build a fortress, a shell of the tortoise that I can step into anytime to make myself peace, calm, silent and whole.
Withdrawing doesn’t mean escaping from the world. It simply means reconnecting with my inner peace, with silence and drawing the power from and filling myself “the Soul” with that strength.
The power to withdraw is the power to choose to come inside and meditate in the midst of a busy day. For a few seconds, I withdraw to return refreshed and charged.
I attach a meditation you may wish to try, it is called Stepping Inwards by Anthony Strano. It is a lovely meditation and I hope you try it out. I think the meditation is very useful, may be to do at the end of the day, or when you are feeling a bit fraught.

I love this post, Bella. I’m learning to meditate by using an app called Headspace. I love how you beautifully illustrated the purpose of meditating and that withdrawing is necessary to find one’s peace. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
