Smile even if you want to cry.
.
The saying goes, when you smile, the whole world smiles with you. When you cry, you cry alone.
.
Unfortunately, this is so true. You could have gone through the hardest thing in your life. You are getting on with your life. You are not asking for pity. Nor are you sinking in self pity.
.
Life is so fast paced. That people move on fast.
.
Whilst your body is broken and bruised, and it reminds you, hey there, go slow my friend.
.
So smile even if you wanna cry. Journal it out. Meditate. And that one nearest and dearest will support you.
NB: I wrote this on 5th Oct 2021 on my Instagram. I wanted to share it on my blog then, but I got side tracked as I do. I am definitely better now, than when I wrote this. But, it is still worth sharing here on my blog, for life is life, and it tests us so. Here is the backstory if you are interested.

Dear, Bella, it looks like my comment didn’t make it to you. I loved this post most, as I think it is so important to feel all emotions viscerally, to process them, and to cry as often as needed; yet, this can cause confusion for people who have been socialized to see crying as problematic. Thus, we should be careful to not cause confusion for people. I will hold my tears at times, and then release them later, or, go for a walk by myself to cry as needed. Lovely post, my friend.

Thank you for rewriting your comment, not sure where your first comment went. I agree with you. I think people are so very quick in life, busy with their own issues, and can’t really step into our shoes and see if from our angle. Therefore it is important for us not to get hurt by them, remain detached, a bit thick skinned and cry later. We have to let it out, but not get stuck. We have to thicked skinned for all that we have to hear by well meaning comments that are wholly unhelpful. So there we have the title, smile even if you want to cry.
Thankbyou always for your lovely thoughtful and deep comments, always a pleasure to speak with you dear Jeff

It is so great to be smiling at all times, adds cadence to our face but at times we need to cry too in order to let our all out. Very nice post, Bella. Keep on smiling always no matter what.

Bella, I needed this❣️
I am in touch with my emotions ,about people and life events, and they are very strong but what I don’t do is cry often.
I get verklempt but typically hold the tears in, aside from a funeral or leaving my daughter to begin university this fall 🥲🥲🥲
Your timing is a gift because lately I’m allowing my tears to fall, for whatever reason, big or small, and the release feels good 😊
You can’t imagine how good it felt to read your post ❣️ In fact, it felt like it was meant for me❤️❤️🤗🤗🥰🥰

ahh that is good that this post was meant for you. I think crying is helpful. but, we just can’t get stuck in that mode. Sometimes we just need to cry, feel what we feel, accept it, acknowledge it, and acknowledge that we will be alone in it. Of course God is by our side, but forget any human understanding – because logically no – one every get us in those situation, and that is totally fine too.
